COASTER REVIEWS

This is the grading system SFoG Info Center uses to grade the roller coasters at SFoG. It is based on a 0-10 scale, with 10 being the best...

LOOK-- The overall apperance of the ride; structure, landscaping, coloring, and how it effects our anticipation before we get on

LAYOUT-- This is how the specific layout of the track adds to the excitement of the ride; how the ride uses terrain and the "atmosphere" to its advantage.

ELEMENTS/INVERSIONS-- This is how the use of elements or inversion effect the coaster. The existance of a specific or new element does not add or take off from this score. This is about how element are used and how smoothly the train enters/exits an element or inversion.

THEME-- If the ride has a good theme, this score should be high. But its how the ride uses the theme to its advantage, and how much theming is used.

RIDE-- The overall effect of the ride. The combination of elements and pacing, the effect of the cars and trains, specific use of brakes, etc. all effect scoring here.

QUEUE LINE--The effect of the queue line to the ride. If the queue line associates with the theme and intermingles with the ride, then this should be high.

ROUGHNESS FACTOR-- This isn't a scoring category, but certainly affects the ride. If the ride is rough and bumpy, the roughness factor is yes, but if the ride is smooth and pleasant, the roughness factor will be no.

Superman: Ultimate Flight is a one-of-a-kind, thrill-a-second roller coaster that is truly an ingenius ride, made by the stellar Swiss firm Bolliger & Mabillard. Nothing about this ride is bad, no aspect, I think could ever be. The theming of the ride and new "Metropolis Park" has a good, clean, and new comic adventure that fits perfectly for that area. The ride is unbelievable, while very smooth and comfortable. The lift hilll is surprisingly high when you get to the top, the third highest coaster at SFoG, and the first hill brings an awesome "real flight feeling" experience to you. The pretzel loop is highly favorable, and insane, no doubt the best inversion ever. Its unique design is excellent to look at, not to say, to experience! The G-Force is incredible, and again very favorable for the annual coaster rider. The rest of the ride is very fun, with you flying over the people in Metropolis Park, then swooping down to come from inches to hitting the ground, then back up...just a great and realistic flying experience. The barrel roll, also, at the end of the ride is underrated, and certainly enhances the flying experience, away from the pretzel loop. The station is neat and unique to SFoG, and won't get hot like Batman does, since there are numerous fans everywhere and it's open-ended. Overall, the ride is very successful, and is highly recommended to all coaster lovers. If you don't ride it, you will miss out big time!
