Six Flags over Georgia – The Superpark of the South!!!
Located in Austell, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, Six Flags over Georgia has thrilled millions of people, young and
old. Entering the 2004 season, Six Flags over Georgia has been in full operation for 37 awesome years!!! Considered by
many to be one of the best parks in the Six Flags chain, the park has enthused many with their unique and mind-boggling thrill
rides and exciting kiddie rides that entertain the smallest of park goers. In 1973, Six Flags
over Georgia had the distinction of having the tallest and longest roller coaster in the world in The Great American Scream
Machine, a wooden giant built by the legendary John Allen, and was even featured in the 1974 Guinness Book of
World Records. Five years later the park went to Anton Schwarzkopf, a steel looping coaster genius, to build Mindbender,
the first triple-loop roller coaster in the world thatincluded two giant vertical loops. This ride along with
Curtis D. Summers' 1991 Georgia Cyclone, a wooden twister coaster, are annually getting Golden Tickets because they
are often rated one of the top 25 for its kind. In 2002, the park brokethrough with the first ever Bolliger & Mabillard
flying coaster in the U.S., Superman: Ultimate Flight, that included the world's first pretzel loop, which is
arguably the most intense inversion felt on roller coasters. The park is truly a classic and should always be on your list
as one of the best parks you've gone to!!!
